See here for the full thread on the CCC -> CIC upgrade. Once set up, you can use your cars iDrive knob, touchscreen display, steering wheel buttons or voice commands via Siri / Google Assistant for controls. We also provide genuine BMW replacement key fobs that look and work exactly like the ones you got with your car. With BimmerTech, you can level up your car with premium-sector BMWs. The vehicle order information from factory will not allow for the CCC to be changed over to a CIC using the BMW GT1 coding machine (which all dealers use) What we are all waiting for is for someone like Autologic to rewrite the car software code, but as yet we don't know if it's possible, and if it is possible, when the coding system will be ready. We offer BMW retrofits like Soft Close doors, Comfort Access kit and Power Tailgate upgrade even to vehicles that can’t be equipped with them from the factory. Although you can update the coding for retrofit parts (like rear sunblind, heated seats, folding mirrors etc) it just isn't easy telling the car that the entire infotainment system has been changed from one type to another. Upgrade from CCC to CIC requires for example a complete hardware upgrade, including the head unit, screen, iDrive controller and trim. The way our cars work is that each car is coded using the original BMW factory order sheet. Depending on your vehicle and its current hardware, as well as the iDrive version you intend to upgrade to, you may need to replace the whole iDrive system, or just a few components. Check out BimmerTech’s CIC Navigation System retrofit and pack your car with advanced tech features. The biggest problem is the programming - it is not as simple as just plug and play unfortunately. If you want to retrofit a CIC iDrive in your older BMW with a CCC system you have to perform a complete hardware upgrade, including the screen, head unit, iDrive controller and trim. The swap out of the hardware is the easiest part (and the most costly) and you need a new CIC computer (which replaces the old CCC), new screen, new drive assembly, new controller, new trim parts - that in itself will probably be around £2500 inc VAT. I expect to receive what's known as a "f*** off quote" from Sytner BMW soon, but i'll post it anyway just so we know where we stand!Ĭurrently, there is no way of upgrading the pre-09 iDrive to the latest version. Built-in Android 12 system special autoradio for BMW 3 Series M3 E90 E91 E92 E93 CIC CCC 8 Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Chip, Ram 4/6/8GB Rom 64/128/256GB Compatible with factory amplifier and car speakers 8.8' Qled Touch Screen. Otherwise the dash/screen size etc appears to be all the same, it would just be software and as Ian says, maybe a new screen and HDD. How to replace the idrive knob on E92 coupe Hello, I am doing some refurbishment on my car lately, the idrive knob was a bit wore out, anyone knows how to replace it BMW charges me 30 Euro to do the work and 20 Euro for the new knob, I assume it shouldn't be that difficult to DIY. I think the only visual changes involve the navigation wheel and as a result maybe the whole centre console facia thing.
